So we have been out strip-mall shooting :) Shooting strip malls in Houston should not be difficult, as they are plentiful. However, finding the interesting angle is more challenging... so here we go;

Skating Rink Multitemporal Colour
This is the ice-skating rink of the Houston Galleria Shopping Mall. . Tecnique described by Bjørn Rørslett (under "Far Side" in the leftmost colomn). . This is a technique that we have wanted to try for a while, but have had trouble finding a fitting motif. The picture is created by combining 3 different exposure into the RGB colour channels in Photoshop. The areas were there is no movement will be combined to a grayscale image, while the areas of movement will be coloured.

Yes this is Texas, a small town called Schulenburg, where you can you buy a bottle of rum and a gun at the same store, you don't even need to go out of your car to get the drink and shoot shopping done, they offer a convenient drive-thru to make it faster..... And just like us in Framed And Shot they found the perfect name too, Double Shot....!
House of God
This is God’s shopping mall corner…. Here you get them all, the Centro Cristiano Nueva Vida ( Spanish for New Life Christian Center), the Grace Cathedral and The Mountain of fire and miracles ministry which is what they call a do-it-yourself ministry; for you who are tired of lukewarm worship. We do not know if the shopaholic ever got relief from these organisations -but they sure did get their share of the rain from Ike, this is taken some weeks after the hurricane and the carpets are removed and left on their doorsteps.
In Through the Out Door
We were exploring a rundown mall some weeks ago, now it is all gone and the landscape is being transformed to a new shopping-heaven – but a few weeks ago it was the land of the lost. Some of the city’s homeless had found shelter and some had found a canvas for their expression. And as we walked around, the title “In through the Out door” just emerged. In Through the Out Door was Led Zeppelin’s last album while together, and who knows – maybe the art was inspired by that music too?
